During a family portrait session, I get the largest group shot first. Of course we want a photo of everyone--especially the kids--looking at the camera. But as soon as we have that, it's time to let kids be kids. Running, jumping, laying in leaves, playing chase- all provide great settings for authentic photos that capture what it's like to be a kid. These siblings, photographed at Silver Springs Park in Stow, Ohio, were only too happy to oblige me when I suggested they lay in the leaves during their fall family portrait session. Their happy smiles say it all.
