Gervasi Vineyard is situated on a gorgeous Italian-inspired estate. It’s the perfect setting for a Tuscan-inspired wedding—or any wedding in need of a private, lush backdrop. We went into the vineyard for the couple’s first look, and then did bridal portraits among the rows of grape vines. The wedding ceremony took place in Gervasi Vineyard’s pavilion; a space where you can have an indoor wedding with an outdoor feel. I love that the pavilion overlooks a spring-fed lake. There are so many beautiful spots for photos at Gervasi! Later in the evening, I stepped outside during the reception to get a different perspective of their party. I know they will remember their day through the photos I give them, so I try to make sure I photograph everything—especially things they may not notice or focus on during the day. They chose Gervasi for a reason, and I doubted they’d leave their party to go outside and admire the entire space. When I looked up, the warmth of the light inside the pavilion contrasting with the deep blue of the summer sky captivated me. While I love people-focused images that show the emotion of the day, an image like this captures the setting at Gervasi Vineyard, and provides the bride and groom with a view they probably didn’t see because they were inside with their families and friends.
