Huntington Beach in Bay Village, Ohio is one of my favorite places for wedding photographs. This bride and groom were brave enough to walk out onto the rocks for this beautiful Lake Erie wedding photo. Her purple and white bridal bouquet, designed by the groom's mother, provides the perfect pop of color against the blue sky and blue water. The multicultural wedding ceremony took place earlier that day at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake, followed by a traditional Chinese tea ceremony to incorporate the bride's Chinese heritage. It was an intimate, emotional moment when the bride and groom kneeled in front of her parents and grandmother, poured tea, and thanked them. Surrounded by family, it was an intimate, emotional scene that I felt privileged to photograph. Later, their reception at Ahern Reception Hall was a brilliant combination of their Western and Chinese culture. The bride and groom poured champagne on an ice sculpture to kick off the wedding reception. Then, in a nod to the bride's Chinese cultural heritage, they visited each table to toast their guests.
