Best Indian Wedding Photographer in Cleveland
This was one of those wedding days that gave me two completely different worlds to photograph — an Indian ceremony in the morning, followed by a Western ceremony later that same day, all at Signature of Solon. I love days like this because you get such a range of tradition, color, and emotion packed into a single celebration.
This moment is from the bride's entrance into the Indian ceremony. She was carried in on a doli — a traditional ornate carriage used in many South Asian weddings to bring the bride to meet her groom — and the second the curtain parted and she saw everyone waiting for her, this enormous, unguarded smile broke across her face. Petals were falling around her, her red dupatta catching the light, and she just lit up.
I love photographing this specific tradition because there's no faking that reaction. The bride can't see much of what's happening around her until she's actually revealed, so what you get is a completely genuine first look at her own wedding — pure joy, caught in real time.
Technically, I wanted to keep the focus tight on her face and expression here, letting the gold framing of the doli create a natural border around her rather than pulling the eye away. The soft petals falling through the frame added movement without distracting from that smile, which is really the whole story of the image.
Getting to document both an Indian and a Western ceremony in the same day is one of my favorite parts of shooting in a city as culturally diverse as Cleveland — every wedding teaches me something new.
